    Jill Bolte Taylor » - a trained and published neuroanatomist, Dr. Taylor woke up December 10, 1996 to discover that she was experiencing a rare form of stroke, an arterio-venous malformation (AVM). Two and a half weeks later, on December 27, 1996, she underwent major brain surgery to remove a golf ball size blood clot that was placing pressure on the language centers in the left hemisphere of her brain. She describes on this program, the extraordinary efforts of her mother to get Dr. Taylor back on track. She was featured by Time as one of 2008's Most Influential People in the World, and her TED Talk has is one of the most highly viewed in the program's history.
