Family Bonding Challenge

Explore the Changing Seasons

Make a homemade picture book of your observations.

Having a strong connection with nature has been shown to be incredibly beneficial to everyone, especially children.

  • As the season begins to change, pick a tree (or something similar) and take a picture every week for the next few weeks.
  • Print the pictures and paste them down. Document your child’s observations and discuss what other things happen as the season changes.
  • Add drawings, keepsakes, or other notes depending on the age of your child.

This week’s challenge is a simple activity to practice instilling mindfulness and a sense of wonder about changing of the seasons.

Homemade books are a fun and inexpensive way to bond with our children and create fun mementos in the process. We’ve used everything from scrap computer paper stapled together, to $1 books from the Target Dollar Spot, to printed picture books from Snapfish. Anything is possible.
